How To Operate An Bulldozer Safely ?

Bulldozer is mainly composed of engine, transmission system, hydraulic system, cutter and shovel. Its working principle is to drive the track movement to push the cutter shovel for bulldozing work. Bulldozer as a push ground road construction equipment, bulldozer can save a lot of material and human resources, accelerate the speed of road construction to reduce the progress of the project. However, in the daily work will often lead to major accidents because of the wrong operation, this article will introduce bulldozer how to operate safely, details are as follows:

1. Before bulldozer operation, it should be checked whether all parts are well connected. Whether the fuel, lubricating oil and hydraulic oil used are in accordance with the regulations, whether there are cracks or leaks in each system, whether the travel of each lever and brake pedal, the tightness of the tracks or the air pressure of the tyres are in accordance with the requirements, and whether it is confirmed that everything is normal before starting.

2. When the engine is running, it is strictly forbidden for the staff to carry out any operation under and around the body of the bulldozer; after the engine of the bulldozer is started, it is strictly forbidden for anyone to stand on the bracket of the track or blade, and it should be checked whether there are any obstacles around the equipment, and it should be started only after confirming that it is safe; it is strictly forbidden for any personnel to go up and down or to pass the objects during the operation of the equipment.

3. The gradient of bulldozer up and down slope should not be more than 35°, and the speed of cross-slope travelling should not be more than 10°, if bulldozing on steep slope should be dug and filled in first, so as to make the machine body keep balance before operation; when multiple machines are working next to each other, the distance between front and back should be more than 8.0m, and the distance between left and right should be more than 1.5m.

4. When working on high slopes, steep slopes and high cans, there must be a special person to direct and protect the machine, and the machine should travel at low speed and slowly when driving on the rugged ground, and the blades should be controlled at about 400mm from the ground, and should not rise too high in order to maintain the stability of the body.

5. When working on the edge of steep slopes, you should drive cautiously, and the blade should not go beyond the edge; the distance of the blade from the edge of heavy bulldozers should not be less than 1.5m; when backing up, you should shift gears and back up first, and then you can raise the blade.

6. When carrying out maintenance and repair or refuelling, the engine should be shut down by putting down the blade first; if it is necessary to check the blade, the blade should be firmly cushioned, and it is forbidden to check under the blade when the blade is hanging in the air.

7. bulldozer up and down the slope or beyond the obstacle, should use low-speed gear, uphill should not change gear, downhill is strictly prohibited in neutral skidding. If necessary, down steep slopes can put down the shovel blade to contact the ground and drive in reverse, using the resistance generated by the bulldozer plate and the ground to control the speed of the bulldozer.

8. When the bulldozer breaks down, it should not be repaired on the slope without reliable measures; when trapped, it is strictly forbidden to use another bulldozer's blade in the front and rear top push.

9. In-situ rotations and sharp turns should be made at reduced engine speed.

10. When travelling on steep slopes, it is strictly forbidden to take a dead end turn, otherwise it will cause the track to derail, or even cause sideways tipping.

11. When the engine suddenly stops on the way uphill, the shovel should be placed on the ground or the brake pedal should be locked, and the main clutch should be disconnected after the machine stops, the gear lever should be put in the neutral position, then try to start the engine, and it is forbidden to skid to start the engine.

12. When travelling or working in shallow water, the depth of water should be ascertained first, and the cooling fan blade should not touch the water surface; before going into the water and after coming out of the water, the travelling device should be filled with grease for maintenance.
